Professional Care for your Everyday Gutter Scares

Have you ever seen one of those roof commercials where it’s raining really hard and the guy decides to go up in the middle of the rainy night to check it out? Or one night notices that something appears to be stuck in the gutter so again, the muscular man of the house, who looks ridiculously like Ben Affleck, braves the weather to go save the day? It looks rather dashing and even sexy, doesn’t it? It makes you want to go on up your own roof and look for something out of place (even if there’s none) so you could try to fix it and look just as good. But it doesn’t really work that way.

Whether is keeping you off the roof or making sure your gutters aren't a breeding ground for pests -- we care about your safety.

Whether is keeping you off the roof or making sure your gutters aren’t a breeding ground for pests — we care about your safety.

First of all, how many of us actually have any background knowledge about fixing gutters? Yes, it’s not rocket science, but it can be complicated stuff. If we just go up there and try to mesh the leaves together, you might end up clogging the entire thing instead. Or you may get rid of the leaves, but you don’t have enough experience to recognize bird droppings from normal stains, so you don’t bother cleaning it up. Bird, insect and other animal waste, when gone out of proportion, are toxic to the human body. So when left alone, the gutter can be a breeding ground for disease-causing microorganisms and you could be exposing yourself and your family to illness.

No problem, I’ll just remember to cover all those things the next time. That could also be a probable solution. Say you actually do your homework and figure out how to clean your gutter. That’s what the internet is for, right? So you go up, and you do a spectacular job, both in fixing and cleaning. But during the climb down, you skip a step on the ladder and you fall. Good thing if you just missed a few steps, so you end up just spraining your ankle. But what if you have a high roof?

There is absolutely no need to put yourself at risk over something that can easily be solved. It only takes a few dollars and the right phone call and you would have a safe, clean and functioning gutter. You have the reassurance of a safe home, but most importantly you just saved yourself from thousands of dollars’ worth of medical procedures and doctor’s fees by choosing to be mindful of your safety. This is one of those cases where we should definitely just leave it to the experts.
